Earl's Bike Shop S24O (Sub 24 Hour Overnight) Monthly(ish) Bikepacking Ride

Cycling and camping go hand in hand quite well, like a glass of fine wine and a perfectly paired cheese. Individually, both are great, but the combination is an entire beast. Unfortunately, for many of us with busy schedules, taking time off for a multiple-day trip and taking the time to plan it can be hard to squeeze in. It's always a great idea to make time for relaxation. But if the time doesn't allow it and you want to get out there in the wild, the S24O (sub-24-hour overnight) is a great way to catch the bikepacking bug.6f719ef6ef3b5fd232d360660b907788_0b72e29e39dd01a3.jpg

The basic idea is to ride to a campsite after work one day, either with yourself or others, have an excellent night's sleep outside, pack up the following day, and head to work. Quick and easy, less planning, with a minimal amount of equipment.

We first heard of this from Rivendell Bicycle Works. Check them out if you haven't had a chance. They're an outlier but offer another optimistic viewpoint on our fantastic industry—more info on S240 here and here.

What do you need to bring? Tent, bivy, hammock, or anything you'll need to sleep outside. Food for dinner and breakfast. That's it; shelter and food. Anything is up to your discretion.
